1. The Bible is about God. God is always the hero.
2. The Bible is 1 unified, harmonious, multi-faceted story

Step 3: Ask these questions of the passage?
1. What are the historical and cultural details I need to know to understand this passage?
2. What are the words of the passage actually trying to communicate and how?
3. How does the message of this passage line up with the message of the rest of the Bible?
